It is now more important than ever to ensure public funds are used to maximum effect. To do this, governments need to know whether policies are working and whether adaptations to programmes could deliver improvements.
Recent years have seen Whitehall departments make increasing use of experimental methods in a growing range of policy areas – from community integration to adult social care.
This event is hosted by POST in collaboration with the What Works Network, as part of the ESRC’s Festival of Social Science 2018. Join parliamentarians, policy-makers, academics and public commentators at the Institute for Government.
Discussions will be held on government trials, using evidence to inform decision-making and the role of UK Parliament in these processes.
