  • This event is open to Members of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and parliamentary staff.

This meeting will bring together academic researchers and parliamentary staff, enabling us to learn more about Science Technology and Innovation Studies, whilst academic researchers will be able to learn more about the work of Parliament in regard to securing information and developing science policy.

Science, Technology and Innovation Studies looks at how these subjects interact with society, policy and culture. It covers a diverse range of topics, including energy, the environment and ecological systems, the regulation of new technologies, biological and life sciences, medicine, regional economies, political economies, innovation, digital systems, and public engagement with policy.

Members from the Association for Studies in Innovation Science and Technology (AsSIST-UK) will present and interact with Parliamentarians in a private meeting, followed by a secondary meeting intended for Committee and Library staf to learn how their research can be of benefit to Parliamentary work.

The first meeting at 1 PM is *only* open to MPs and Peers, and the second at 2:30 PM is open to all Parliamentary staff, with emphasis on Library and Committee staff.
