Following the success of last year’s inaugural Evidence Week, the Evidence Pods are back to provide parliamentarians and their staff access to resources, tools and data on prominent and complex policy areas ranging from drones, food safety, road traffic and air quality, to artificial intelligence. Evidence Week is a joint initiative with the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, the House of Commons Library, the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology and Sense About Science
At the opening event of Evidence Week, MPs will have the opportunity to hear from community groups who are interested in the same evidence issues that the MPs are currently dealing with, as outlined in new data from Ipsos MORI’s MP survey
Opening: Monday June 24, 4pm to 6pm
Stranger’s Dining Room, UK Parliament
This will be followed by two days of 3-minute briefings at interactive ‘Evidence Pods’ in the Upper Waiting Hall, with more than 20 partners, on different facets of interrogating evidence, from drones to the census.
Evidence Pods: Tuesday June 25 to Wednesday June 26, 9am to 12.45pm and 1.15pm to 5pm
Upper Waiting Hall, UK Parliament
At the installation in Upper Waiting Hall, MPs will be able to meet constituents to look at how to use evidence on national and local issues. Among many things, researchers will be demonstrating how to combine sources on constituency housing data, how to disaggregate data to find out what’s really going on and new tools for mapping and tracking problems.
