Community engagement with English devolution
Successive governments have promoted greater devolution in England, but challenges remain about community engagement with the policy and local decision-making.
POST has partnered with Sense about Science to host the seventh annual Evidence Week in Parliament and online from 20 – 24 January.
Event dates: 20 – 24 January 2025
Location: Westminster and online
You are invited to join constituents, researchers, and other parliamentarians to discuss how the evidence used to make policy decisions is scrutinised, with a programme of public discussion, policy briefings for MPs and training for parliamentary staff designed to share knowledge and insights and build new networks.
Now in its seventh year, Evidence Week 2024/25 opens with a reverse select committee livestreamed from the Wilson Room, bringing constituents from across the UK into Westminster to ask about policy evidence on issues that matter to them.
In addition to accessing two days of quick-fire policy briefings in the Jubilee Room, members of both houses are invited to join colleagues for lively discussions at our drinks reception on government use of artificial intelligence, hosted in partnership with Imperial College London.
Parliamentary staff can register for bite-size training sessions with national experts throughout the week, with workshops on a wide range of topical skills such as discerning misinformation and disinformation, navigating risk information, data transparency, AI-generated multimedia, research services and government statistics.
